Founded in 1956, our department provides fire suppression, technical rescue, community outreach and medical response services to Indian Trail, NC and surrounding unincorporated Union County.
We are comprised of a combination of career staff, part time personnel and volunteers.
In January 2023 the department underwent a routine inspection by the North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal. This resulted in an improvement of ISO classification from 4/9E to 3/9E.
The mission of Bakers Volunteer Fire Department is to make a positive difference in the community by protecting life and property from danger, through public education, fire suppression, rescue and medical aid, by selfless volunteers that are guided by values that serve as a moral compass to guide them through life and
